Another really nice, authentic 19th century covered chest in very good condition! This one has original, folksy paint decorations on the front that depict flowers over nice, blue paint. The date "1888" is also painted on the front which likely signifies the date of the marriage of the girl who originally owned this dowery chest. (There is a number "9" on the front, but it is a chalk inventory number and will wipe off). There are forged iron handles, hinges, and a latch that are very nice too. Very large and great for the storage of blankets, clothing, children's toys, pillows, stuffed animals, ex-husbands, books, etc.....(just kidding about the husband thing...)
