Super primitive redware mixing bowl dating back to the 1860's! Since there is no glaze inside or out, it has a very nice, grungy patina from years of wear and tear and also from the passage of time. This bowl has an interesting shape and is rather deep. There are a pair of incised rings on the exterior that serve as a modest decoration. This old bowl also has a spour for pouring out liquids or batter. It measures 6 inches high, has a 5 1/8 inch bottom diameter and a 8 inch opening diameter, not including the spout. It does have one hard to spot hairline that is tight and not in danger of causing the bowl to come apart. It's a nice, solid, piece of early kitchenware that displays well on an old cupboard, shelf or harvest table.
