Now this is a beautiful, late 1800's or very early 1900's stoneware pitcher in very good condition! Tall with a wide opening and large spout, this piece of stoneware is lead glazed and colored with several kinds of oxides. It is mostly yellow with some subtle blending of some bluish-green around the sides and back. The area around the opening and spout are brown. There are also small specks of orange all over the piece. Seven hand-glazed daisies decorate the midsection of this pitcher.
It measures 10 3/4 inches high, has a four inch base diameter, and an opening that measures 4 1/2 inches across including the spout. There is a number 2 carved into the bottom. It's slightly less heavy than the redware pitchers but is still a solid piece of old stoneware. Beautiful item...needs a little cleanup from generations of cellar storage.
