This early salt box has wonderful, primitive charm! It has a folky, handmade style with simple, carved decorations including the initials of what probably was the husband and wife of the household. It has a lift-up cover and a dry, original patina that hasn't been refinished or otherwise altered. This is a beautiful, old kitchen item that's both rare and offered at a good price.
